People (really just gay 40 year old dudes on twitter lmfao) were mad that she asked Lil Nas X to hold her award and took offense to her saying African music is more than just afrobeats and that her album should have been categorized amapiano more than anything.

Pretty much her asking for the award to be held invalidated everything after that as now she was seen as nothing else but an “uppity African”

Meanwhile, proceeds to quote a video of Tems who was literally saying the same thing Tyla said in her speech and focus on everything but what she said in her speech about learning about culture (cause the nigga didn’t actually watch it)
