Well him and Chelsea wouldn't have much of a storyline if he wasn't. But it being revealed to him via his wife post-death is ehhhh.

Huh? He could’ve just been “the guy who killed his dad”. It getting revealed “he’s your father” literally changed nothing about the plot.

Why not just keep it as “your dad wasn’t who you thought” and even “me killing his was justified” rather than adding in a last minute twist for shock.

Oh yeah my bad I misunderstood ya. My reply is in agreement about the reveal.

this might be insensitive but the reason i never connected with rick's storyline in the first place is cause i feel like by his old age you should be over whatever daddy issues you had as a kid. like chelsea was not joking when she said he's like her child. and that's not cute.

The Lochlan x Saxon thing could extend past just sexual curiosity. I think some folks have been looking at that on a pretty surface level because it's hard to get past the actual act of what happened. But it's a chance the writers took lol people are gonna feel how they feel.

the other large dynamic of it is sibling approval, beyond any context of sexual curiosity

funny cause I just watched Diary of a Wimpy kid, and it dealt with similar sibling dynamics, searching for cheap approval instead of just finding YOUR INNER approval and allowing that to do the talking

uhhh yea cause he gunned down those two relatively innocent security people, and his dad who “pillaged” ? the land and was just a deadbeat. idt any of that is justification

Killing someone who is acting like he killed your dad and that’s what you’ve been manipulated to believe is 100% justified regardless if this random person calls him “a deadbeat”

Killing the two guards, no, that’s unfortunately a casualty of war, not justified but I wouldn’t just put it so black as “he’s a terrible person”….its grey for me

youre not wrong. i truly think my issues with rick lie in Goggins not being the right actor to play the character cause idk. on paper hes someone that i typically would give way more sympathy and support and rooting interest for, but in this show he was just a complete d*** head to me

That’s asking a lot. We aren’t talking “my parents didn’t give me attention as a kid” type trauma.

Is there a time limit on when you’re suppose to get over someone murdering your parent?

  • Apr 7, 2025

like the scene in Bangkok where he confronted him was just so flattttt. only for it to come back in his face causing him to crash out. i guess that’s how white intended it though

He was a complete d*** and maybe that was the point Mike was going for that unresolved trauma can make us hurt the people closest? It’s a cliche theme by this point but I’m wondering if that’s exactly how Mike intended it.

Because it was funny how after he resolved his issue all sudden he was tryna be nice to Chelsea now lol

Yeah exactly, it was clear he looked up to, admired his older brother. Seeking acceptance and belonging amongst his family, even with the brash decision to join his sister at the monastery. He hasn't plotted his own course yet and he's looking to those around him to see how to be. He probably saw confidence and a knowing of self in Saxon that he doesn't have. It never seemed to me to be just about wanting to get off with his brother.

I think it’s great when a finale brings up heavy discussion and is polarizing, Sopranos for example.

What I don’t think is great is when a viewer can debunk a plot line in 2 seconds. “Why not just empty the blender” “Why did the guards just magically walk off?”

Those aren’t even questions I asked after, I asked those questions as I was watching because I could tell exactly where Mike was going as it played out. That’s not good, I shouldn’t be able to say “oh god Tim didn’t empty the blender and now Lochlan is gonna drink it”

I shouldn’t be saying “oh Ricks dad stopped right in front of him, now some s*** bout to go down” “oh the guards walked off so Rick can make his move on pops” “oh here comes Chelsea outta nowhere, she’s a goner”

I could feel how contrived it all was while watching and each scene had me rolling my eyes.

yeah i think once you push 50 you should be more well-adjusted about a dead dad you never met. like you should've experienced enough life and death and pain by that point to not be such a naive child about it (i.e. him just blindly believing his moms final words and holding this man he knows nothing about up on a pedestal). i guess it was probably a case of him blaming everything that went wrong in his life on this one fact and getting stuck on that though.

but also - was he not a hitman before this? why is he so incredibly incompetent? why has he waited all this time to enact his revenge when he seems so entirely consumed by it? of all the characters i find i just can't empathize with him.

the rick complaints i get cause that was contrived. but with the blender... have you considered that these people are just not smart?

I’d like to see Saxon even though idk if that would make sense being he’s broke now? But I’m curious how that whole s*** with the family plays out.

I’d love to see Sam’s character return but that’s people not happening.

Realistically bringing back Belinda makes sense. She’s rich now so it would be cool to see how she is on the other side now.

Laurie makes sense, bring her back as a solo character to see her journey.

Maybe simp boy and Porcha from S2 if they ended up working together.

Honestly you can bring back a lot of the S1 and 2 characters. It didn’t get too dark to where it wouldn’t make sense.

I’m honestly not sure bro. I think he’s wayyyy too incompetent to be a hit man. But in those final moments he was shooting as if hes had some type of training.

I’ve seen others ask this and I can’t remember anywhere where his occupation was hinted at

i see belinda and her son returning fs. maybe p***chai too.

the characters i'd most want to see return are the family, but i don't imagine they're going to any more luxury resorts in the near future.

i could see portia for sure, maybe working as the assistant for another rich snob

belinda probably makes the most sense though, albeit I feel like I’ve seen enough of her story. her and gary, even though surprising, have reached a conclusion for me.

agreed on Saxons fam, really wanted at least one scene of them reacting to the news.

regarding the last sentence, the only thing we got was him and gary chatting about what they do, and i’m pretty sure it was a vague “i do a little bit of this and that”

Them not being smart is the easy way out. They displayed this family as college educated “I went to Duke” and highly successful.

Tim knew to dump out the juice from the glasses but was too dumb to also dump out the blender that’s right there? I’m not buying that at all.

And I’m sorry nobody is that disgusting to use a dirty ass blender that has spoiled coconut milk (according to dad) in it just because “I feel left out and wanna have some pina colada too” ion even think that’s what Mike was going for.
