I really wanted to like this, but I watched like the first 3-4 episodes and the tone was just all over the place . I really couldn't get invested in the story

So in, enjoyed season 1

not much yennefer in that teaser, wonder where her story goes

so excited for this season, still wish HBO had it but this looks like a faithful adaptation

Just watched this,it was great until the 5 episode,after that i lost interest and the show went from great to ok,i dont buy the relationship between geralt and yenefer in this show,it looks like everyone that come across geralt either f***s him or falls in love,i guess thats the cavill effect lol.

Other thing that bugs me its the magic in the show,its weirdly inconsistent.

Im still going to watch the next sea son tho because i think this world has potential but i hope they are more focused

Peeped the anime movie that just dropped on Netflix. It was pretty good. Good quality animation, I was entertained throughout

Gonna watch season 1 again, so I’m ready for when season 2 drops

Is season 1 good? I loved the games

As someone who didn't read the books or play the game, I thought it was pretty straight. My only problem was the love/romance element

not as good as the games, some of the production also looks bad but being the first season i was expecting that. and depending on your interpretation of geralt from the game cavill can be hit or miss (has a good look but some of the dialogue is so bad man). but there are some great set pieces in there.

watchable though, but just don't expect too much

s2 looks much more promising imo

Never really played the games or read the books, but I enjoyed the show. The show is what sold Henry Cavill as an actor to me. He’s really good in this. Thought the effects were good for what it is. It isn’t movie quality, or The Mandalorian quality, but it’s more than passable for when it came on.

I like how the magic is done in the show as well. I’d like a lil more grandiose effects like in the new animated movie, but it’s live action

Fight scenes in this are real good, especially the one in the first episode.

Thanks for the replies guys. I’m going to give this a look. I’ll be honest I’ve played a lot of the game but I don’t know much about the lore. Im going in with small expectations. Also, is there anything I need to watch before seeing the new animated Witcher movie?

just watched the animated film, it's actually a prequel to the witcher s1 and s2 so you won't need to watch anything

the lore is helpful and what i loved most about the games, but i don't think it will hinder your enjoyment
