Nah niggas do believe it. The take went semi viral a few weeks ago.

And it makes sense if you really try and understand it. The music A Boogie was making at that time was easily better than what Jay Z could’ve made during that era.

That first A boogie tape was way better than Magna Carta v2 would’ve been

if you compare it with the period when jay z wasnt dropping music, then yeah MAYBE

I remember thinking A Boogie was smooth when he first popped up but him and Jay z dont remotely make the same type of music

You can’t render Hov’s skillset lesser than a nigga who essentially just a melody punchline rapper. Nigga thats like comparing Michael Jordan to Jordan Poole. A complete hall of fame career skillset is never lesser than a nigga who can maybe give you a hot shooting streak against a specific type of team and i cant believe i wasted my time even breaking this down in a troll thread

Boogie mixtape better than a Magna Carta 2 that dont even exist?
    Lmaoo nigga are you serious?

Yall be on some other s*** sometimes lol

Jay Z around that era was more like Wizards Jordan. You wouldn’t be wrong to say that a young prospect coming up averaging 20 or more was better than wizards MJ.

Of course everything considered Jay Z is a giant compared to A boogie.

It’s like how right now there’s niggas better than Kanye that don’t come near him at his peak

  • Better is strong word but when that first mixtape dropped I remember A boogie pretty much had the city on lock. Kind of a crazy era to think about. He’s Genuinely a NY legend, even if his sound wasn’t the most unique. Plus that melodic street s*** (tjay probably the second biggest ny artist in that brand) got annoying.

Bruh I’m 25 lol. I was in HS when A boogie came out and when Hov dropped 4:44. Im getting up there though lol

In 2015 Hov was two years removed from Magna Carta but he didn’t fully evolve to that next phase of rapping and aesthetics that came with 4:44.

Like yeah his rapping was always elite but he was still figuring out where to go with his music as a whole.

On the surface yeah the s*** sounds crazy. “A boogie better than Jay Z”. But then when you peel back the layers you’re like “yeah that s*** is kinda true for that period”

  • I’m f***ing crying at the title
