The United States has a Strategic Petroleum Reserve incase theres a political disputes or embargo against America and OPEC (which is made up of the oil producing gulf states) , this reserve only has 28 day worth of petroleum consumption for the entire nation. If we don’t don’t reach a resolution within those 28 days we’d be at the mercy of these OPEC countries

At this point that isn’t probably going to happen because America and Saudi have friendly relations. Russia is Saudi’s target and they won’t last long in this oil price war but this would still inflict pain to American oil companies, they’re already seeing no profits and won’t in atleast the upcoming month

everyone else gets oil via a way that costs less then $10

This. OP the US and Saudi are allies purely because of oil, that hasn't changed.

The drop from the price war already happened last month, and US and Saudi are allies against Russia's oil business. The US doesn't have an issue with what the Saudis are doing/did as it's just temporary to put a choke on Russia.

The drop was like what @Tubig from the huge drop in demand.
