  • I feel like most people kinda fell off of Mick after the waters but man in the past few years, he’s been one of the best rappers alive. The deadstock bar on here is one of the best lines of last year. He’s insane

tryna hear discussion of WHY ppl think he fell off after the waters.

feel like the genre's fans are becoming dichotomized / with half regressing back to an 80s attitude of being easily impressed by technically skilled rappers as a response to today's counterculture direction of not really appreciating lyrics.

not every song has to be super deep or nun but i jus listen to s*** like this, j cole, etc and be so bored. at least back in 2014 his sound was refreshing and he felt conceptually striking. this just feels like easy listening lofi neo soul adjacent backback rap s*** thats easy for "real"hiphopheads eat up

same, think i stuck around til the healing component then jus jumped off the train and watched him from the sidelines. heard a few decent singles & ofc there's projects i still have to check out that his fans have lauded but atp the playing field is filled w much more interesting lyricists/songwriters that hold attention

  • The project he put put last year was crazy, he was on another level bar wise

Why cant niggas just like an artist that has been consistently consistent for 15+ years

Everything doesnt have to be this mind bending thing sometimes I can like an artist that I know is gonna always give me what I want

  • This a lie lol

One of my favorite songs. I'd say he peaked on Pieces of a man / Elephant in a room.

Couldn't really get into The Patience and haven't heard Murder of crows yet

never said thats what going on there but is what he is doing on those projects enough to bring him back to that pinnacle of reverence he once had? i feel like the answer is no and im curious why
