i remember somoeone paid me 20 bucks to burn him a disc the next day he walked like 3 miles to my crib and i didnt have the heart to tell him my internet was way too slow to burn him a disc in 24 hours so i gave him trap muzik by t.i. and urban legend was already out. i told him i spent the 20 on food even tho i didnt
I remember listening to all the wayne mixtapes and clipse joints that my cousin would put onto our Xbox 360. Honestly if my cousin didn’t put me on to music when he did I’d be a gigantic p****
The nights I'd spend staying up late to see my favorite artists being played on MTV and Much Music
Recording music videos onto blank tapes so you could always watch them whenever you wanted
When Limewire, Bearshare, and other p2p networks had the songs you wanted but most were s***ty rips with bad bitrates, so you had to really dig to get a good version
When your momma got the CD you wanted for ya birthday or Christmas and you couldn't wait to tear the clear wrapping off and pop it in your Walkman or big ass CD deck
Getting the latest copy of XXL to read interviews from your favorite artists. Artists still had mystique back then cause they didn't plaster every mundane moment of their life on social media
We went too far dawgs. We need to go back. Our need for convenience created a soulless void where nothing is exclusive or valuable anymore.
I felt this post so hard
Take me back
Arent u that guy who eats his own s*** or whatever?
Born in 2000 so I could always youtube everything by the time I started listening to music regularly but I remember when I was like 8 I would take my sister's ipod nano and listen to Stronger and other radio hits
Early 2000s was really peak life
I wish I was at least 16 back then bruh,I know for a fact everything was cooler then.

I was in my preteen/early teen days in the early 2000s 2000-2006. Youre right, everything was so much cooler and People weren’t as sensitive as they are now

Yooo I loved FYE. It was the only place around me that sold used CDs so you could score some real gems for cheap.

In 2000,i was 4 yrs old,my first step into rap culture was around 2006 really when I use to rip music from limewire and play random s*** from Napster. I’d love to go back cause stuff was just so much more cool and genuine.
Playing PS2 in one room with your homies while the other TV on BET just playing music videos while y’all just talk bullshit just sounds like a vibe I want back
