These next generations gonna have so much good music to sample

I always thought it would be less disrespectful the longer you wait to use a song sample

But I mean artists have used recent songs as samples

I find so much good modern alt rock/rnb type music (tbh hard to categorize, but pretty much there’s allot of guitars and electronic elements) on the YouTube channel David Dean Burkhart and if you go thru related videos you can find other great channels that post the same type of music

OP a real one

While there are some decent songs in the OP I'd actually have to say the opposite. There's been a f***ton of really boring, uninspired, elevator-esque indie music that's been coming out lately. For every good indie song artist there seems to be a f***ton of Auditory Nyquil. Kinda sucks seeing Gen Z discover dreampop,rnb and shoegaze and abandon all of the interesting aspects of these genre's just to have a chill aesthetic. I guess some of the worse stuff can be excused as growing pains considering how young the artists are, but goddamn is this an awkward stage.

It’s just a different mood. I really like those exact songs ur describing. The lyrics and delivery are usually very drowsy but the instrumental is either funky af or hazy and shimmery

When dudes like Toro Y Moi,Blood Orange and James Blake were just coming out not to mention acts like Beach House,MGMT,Sleigh Bells or even rock bands like Wavves. S*** was different then
