is this only an issue if someone is sampling a hit? genuinely curious cus 90% of the beats you like are just samples you haven't heard of anyways

feel like it's a formula that the music machine has cracked as "instant success" so now it's pumping it out crazy

liken it to today's biopics/Hollywood regurgitation

has to be the lowest/laziest creative has ever been

These songs came out a few months after each other.

First Class, Stayin Alive, Way 2 Sexy, Betty, Big Energy, etc. artists think they can sample old songs and use them as the hook because they know tik tok kids have never heard of them before. This s*** is getting bad. And before someone says “sampling has always been a thing”. There is a difference of chopping a old sample in a creative way and this. You know it.

Is this a lazy sample as well?

It definitely is compared to a long list of other ‘90’s rap classics. RZA alone dude

    Take your pick

Griselda has lazy loops most of the time but the samples are relatively unknown so it's not a big deal

I think it's like if you sample the hook of a big obvious hit that people already have a nostalgic association with

It's happening so often now that it feels engineered, we're living in a pretty stagnant 'If you liked that, then you'll love this' culture
