not that i don't doubt that poster's intentions but if we're being completely grounded in reality i don't think we should be allowing kids to subvert their parents and/or medical professionals for something as serious and potentially life-altering as hrt

this is a complex issue but i don't foresee a teenager getting DIY hrt and taking it over months, maybe years, and being able to hide that from their parents. i can easily foresee the backlash from the parent being worse than just blanket not affirming their gender (if the child is out).

if a medical professional agrees and the parent doesn't then i'm for it in theory but i just don't know which outcome is going to put the safety of the child at greater risk. not affirming gender or buying HRT from across the world, taking it discreetly for periods of time, and then getting caught?

i can get what ur saying but sumtimes gender affirming treatment is just a risk that sum1 will want 2 take & i don't see anything inherently wrong w/ providing sum kind of help if smth happens the parents r @ fault 4 being terrible caregivers
