The city ain’t helping these communities out, the real change start there. Put some community centers in these blocks, fund their schools, fix their living conditions etc. a lot of these dudes were doomed from the jump. This is all they know.
Yeah, funding the communities is key. Kids are bored hanging on the block. I watched a documentary that showed how easy it is to solve the problems that plague the inner city.
The biggest things that created this was white flight to the suburbs after segregation which caused the funding for these neighbourhoods to exit the city. The funding has never returned.
aye them niggas called you BD Bandito sir.
It's BanDito.
No need to say the BD

No doubt about that I just think as a community we could do better by not promoting all this mess, but what can we do

Besides lack of funding. A big issue is the prison industrial complex that has boys growing up without proper role models. If you fix the prison system and the draconian laws and provide education the youth will have different alternatives.

I ain’t mean to turn this thread into this I’m just sad one of my favorite cousins bout to go back to prison
Another thing that needs to happen is a new version of segregation. Where wealthy communities have affordable housing so kids from poor areas have a change of scenery, new people and access to better schools. In Toronto for example every new condo development has to make one tower affordable housing.

S***s sad man. The cycle is hard to break. How much time is he facing?

Chicago is too far gone for that tbh. The most we can do is try to save the future generations as best as we could and our government is the key to that change.

Idk he just got out after a 7 year bid and is back on the run with warrants for some dumb s***

We used up all the community center money dropping bombs in Iraq
Brothers brothers brothers..
When are we gonna learn

I don't think so. I think the cycle is being broken. Crime and violence will always exist.
Even though we blame the internet for a lot of the violence it is the vehicle that is also changing those communities. Kids now have access to the entire world and new perspectives.
All change just takes time. If people have access to affordable housing, healthcare and clean drinking water things will change faster.

Yeah a lot of shorties really be out here bored with nothing to do so they go look for trouble. That’s how a few of my cousins were. They ain’t no steppers fr but since they had too much time on their hands they started moving with the wrong crowds. Then back when I stayed on Ellis the shorties literally ran that area. S*** was crazy, them lil niggas should’ve been on school or some. But in that area the closest thing for them to is go to Ymca but even then that s*** is mad expensive. I think some programs will run you over 100 a week. Niggas in them communities don’t have that bread to be blowing on extra activities. And the schools, man we had classrooms with 25-30 people and a decent amount of the class had to share books with their neighbors. It’s like our communities are set up for us to fail and fall into this life of crime.

S*** is crazy bro. I don’t see how they can look at all these poor communities that’s down bad and still pump out so much money on useless s***.

Sharing books is crazy.
We have very bad gang violence here in Toronto but we don't have those funding issues to that extent.
Also, the areas that beef are pretty spread out and are surrounding by nice places. So it's all contained in a sense with tiny spill overs.
The issues in Chicago really seem government-sponsored.
