ThizzI know there’s some states that don’t even teach other cultures involvement in US History.
In California I learned about the Mexicans and some Asian involvement but I doubt people in Utah/Montana etc learned any of it.I'm in NYC and I didn't even learn anything about my own people besides the fact we were enslaved, then magically we weren't.
In HS my social studies class was focused on Reconstruction right? lmao we didn't even learn about how we were being treated back then
The class was mainly focused on Lincoln actually even though he died lmao.I passed the class but I actually got in trouble when for my exit paper on Reconstruction I used a historic academic text from my Uncles library as the resource. (aka it wasn't filled with bullshit)

Apr 10, 2020When I was in middle school from 2008-2011, most history books usually ended around 9/11. Since Afghanistan and Iraq were still active conflicts at that time, there were just small blurbs.
We barely discussed Iraq or Afghanistan in high school either. But I agree, since Iraq ended in 2011 and Afghanistan being the longest conflict in U.S. history by both being contemporary to students and also before they were born, it should be taught more.
