Hi everyone I’ll be traveling to Austin next weekend for my birthday 🥳.

I’m finalizing my plans, but need more ideas for day time activities. For like a Monday and Tuesday.

Feel like I’m good on bars and night life ( but more recommendations the better )

Also def need a good bbq place and food/ restaurant are welcomed too.

    Thanks fam 😊

there is a lot to do. are you into museums? are you looking to drink? like what do you wanna do during the daytime? that’ll help narrow it down. also (if you don’t mind me asking) are you staying downtown, south, north, east etc? like i said there’s a lot to do in all corners of the city so it’ll help

as far as barbecue - terry black’s, stiles switch, franklin’s are all pretty good

South Congress is a cool place too explore

West 6th is cool. I'd avoid the section that gets blocked off towards the East

Rainey street is pretty fun, especially on Sundays

    @Chip_Skylark ?

I only been once and 6th street was the place to be. I went during SXSW

the only thing I didn’t like was yeah it was crowded but did I really need to walk by a fashion runway taking up mad space every 5 minutes? Who gives a s*** I just want booze

They have a couple of great record shops. The most popular one is called Waterloo Records. Super popular pizza spot called Home Slice Pizza. I’d definitely recommend it.

If you’re into it, you can go to Mount Bonnell. It’s like one of the highest points in the city, gives you a great view of Lake Austin and all the surrounding mountains/hills. A lot of people go there for pictures.

And then of course, you could hit 6th street. Plenty of bars and people all around. When I went, we just kept walking around until we found a bar that was playing rap.

There’s some street that has a bunch of shops and s*** you could go to during the day that had some cool stuff, but I don’t remember where we were. Probably close to 6th street. Have fun.

6th street . You can walk through SoCo in like 30 minutes .

6th street but just be careful

@op i lived in Austin for 5 years.

    • I would recommend Rainey Street over 6th, it is much safer & the ppl tend to be nicer there. 6th has had a shooting & multiple fights break out over the past couple years, so I avoided it.

    • Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que is a great BBQ joint

    • BarChi Sushi has amazing sushi

    • TacoDeli has the BEST tacos & queso

@op Waterloo Records & Homeslice Pizza are great too, and if you wanna take pics on the mountain next to Pennybacker bridge for your birthday that would look fire too
