i think it will turn out to be the opposite in some ways

the rich people are going to end up giving their kids schooling that requires them to still be able to think, while the poors will be entirely reliant on AI and not be able to think for themselves at all

He literally says it's a joke right after that lol. People itt getting worked up over nothing

We were all laughing too loud to hear that part

Yup. If anything it’s the rich who think. The moment anyone stops thinking, that’s when they give up

  • type of s*** you think after two decades in a bubble from living in a middle of nowhere hippie town in ohio completely detached from regular people

  • ""I was talking to a friend of mine and we were laughing about how no one really would know what to teach a kid now."

  • Chappelle is beyond compromised. He’s being paid to make this statement

By saying thinking is for poor people he’s attempting to make poor people stop thinking

    Dude is finished

  • YOU GOT MONEY YOU DONT GOTTA THINK

  • Thinking is for poor people has been true for awhile now. I know mad rich people that’s dumb as a sack of hammers. Yall really think the son of billionaire be sitting up late at night thinking about how hard life is?

yea i was just thinking about this

everyone wants to believe a.i is a bubble but im afraid major systems are already comfortable using llm’s to build its architecture

sam altman’s vision of “thinking” being a utility expense that people pay for is already there in token and usage limits. we’re actually so much closer to this just being a necessary expense it’s scary for anyone who wants to reject llm’s

if america is the leader, trump has pretty much allowed for unfettered deregulation, enough so that the takeover is imminent

an astute observation from chappelle but it’s gonna be taken as punching down

Its several years from being able to replace most cognitively demanding jobs

Sure it can write pieces of code rly well but its not fully autonomous for most tasks tbh

Also most ai implementations in existing software are clunky at best

  • How is this remotely a bad take?

“Technology is rapidly changing and replacing human skills. I’m not sure what skills I’d teach a child because skill sets are getting replaced yearly.”

Then he jokes that thinking will be for poor people. (people have been talking about dumb rich people for hundreds of years.)

Dawg in 2021 an ai video looked like a nightmare. In 2026 it looks almost real. What do you think it’ll look like in 2031?

Maybe who knows. I dont think anyone has come up with anything significantly better than llms since 2023 when llms became popular, for all we know it could be decades before a better idea shows up

I do research with deep learning models and its not obvious to me an advancement like LLMs is anywhere on the horizon

Deep learning is rly good at certain tasks but not everything

  • All technology eventually hits a point where further advancements are incremental and provide diminishing returns

I think llms are already at that point
