Man this era was so crazy, crazy how all 4 of them have one or multiple classics under their belt. The main reason why I wanted to post this is Soul’s freestyle specifically. If he can keep his album output consistent like CS/Herbert or his early mixtapes I still believe he has it in him to drop something that could rival Kendrick’s greatest albums eventually. Truly one of the most gifted lyricists to ever do it.
Give the man his flowers!!!
As far as rap I’m running it like I’m getting robbed. Target wasn’t quite my target that’s why I quit my job
N*ggas better hop on board when my ship sets sail and I sell a few records. We sippin’ Guiness and set a few records
And it’s inadequate thinking I used to run Nazareth just imagine if this hoodie was a crown of thorns
And my favorite
Get your punchlines up then maybe we can spar, your lyrics should make a point then maybe we can score. Then maybe I can show you how three met-a-phor
Yeah this a classic video I used to spend hours after school.. s*** even in school watching all of their freestyles and vids. Felt like I was the only nigga on the east coast that was hip at one point
@op unlocked a memory man

TDE 2010-2016 was like a new golden age in hiphop for me

Yeah bro same I was happy as hell when I found out a few of my niggas also bumped TDE. I swear at that time it felt like we were TDE’s Newark street team lol but I got hella push back if it wasn’t niggas like Meek, Wayne, even Drake. That all changed when GKMC dropped

Remember trying to put people on to The Heart 2 which was the intro track on the Overly Dedicated mixtape. Told people it was one of the hardest verses I’ve ever heard (wrap saran our defiance ban our alliance )
Remember then people pushing back like “his voice inflections are weird” and s***. Now the whole world loves him. Weird vocal inflections and all

I would say 2009-2016 was the official new golden age of rap
So yes definitely agree!

For sure
Not a freestyle but OP took me back to this classic
Always loved the part when they all interrupted each others bars in a single verse. They had so much chemistry together. Id still kill for a Black Hippy album even tho it’s been stated it will never happen. They don’t even do features on each other’s records like that anymore and that actually pains me tbh
Damn I used to pretend I was in Black Hippy as a teen
How time has flown, classic era man
