Carti and Uzi survive on the legs of their overall aesthetic and visuals and beat selection and they ride a beat well enough with tricks and gimmicks like ooh uh um yeah and changing your voice. Part of the appeal is that anyone can do it and they’re too cool to actually rap or be what rappers used to be

When Baby could have existed any time in the past 20 years of rap because he has a rapping foundation he just is trapped in trap flows and cadences and beats
