    for the ones…

That lived through the Post-TML drake drought with no new music and scoured ktt waiting for Take Care

That remember the skip on Over My Dead Body and anticipated for a week or two getting to hear The Ride

That lived through the legendary year of Francisco Mandarin

That stalked OVO’s every movement as they were filming the Started From Thr Bottom video and defended Drake to death when SFTB dropped and people thought it wasn’t even him rapping

That were in the Hold On Were Going Home thread as Majid Jordan was introduced to the world and Drake came with a brand new sound

That experienced 5AM in Toronto dropping as Drake decimated the entire rap game and rap media complex

That lived through the Nothing Was The Same leak and release

That played the f*** out of the 0-100 snippet as the TOPSZN Regime era of 2014 came through

That scoured the internet for clues leading up to the surprise drop of If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late

That witnessed Drake put the rap game on notice with IYRITL

That watched Drake kill a man’s career and clown him on the OVOFEST stage..only to singlehandedly revive that man’s career when he saw fit

That watched a classic collab mixtape in What A Time To Be Alive get cooked up and given to the world in a week’s time

That were around when a snippet of Sweeterman showed up on KTT, kicking off Drake’s island vibes run, and giving is yet another classic remix in the process

That sat through OVO Sound Radio episode after episode, getting updates on VIEWS and finding so much new great music in the process

That played the Downtown Whippin snippet hundreds of times over, and then finally got to hear the full song when we got to Feel No Ways on Views…and then found out in an interview that had that snippet never leaked Drake & 40 probably would have cut the song from the album. The world owes a debt to that snippet leaking.

That watched Drake turn into an international star with the release of Views

That witnessed Drake bring so many genres of music to the forefront with More Life as he dropped more chunes pon our headtops

That were here to send God’s Plan viral off a snippet

That lived through the Pusha beef as the whole industry tried to get this man out of here

That danced along to In My Feelings and watched Drake take over Billboard with Scorpion and cement himself as the biggest name in music

That watched Drake become a loving father

That sat through IG Lives during quarantine watching drake play new music

That were here for Dark Lane Demo Tapes and slid along to Toosie while stuck in the house

That anticipated Certified Lover Boy for months. Setback after setback. Rumor after rumor.

I just want to say that we made it. Aubrey Drake Graham is about to bless us our eardrums yet again.

“I always love the moment right before it happens more than when it actually happens”

im ready to run through a brick wall after reading this

Still kills me when y’all refer to him as Francisco Mandarin lmao

I remember telling KTT he called himself that when he checked into the hotel I worked at. Damn, I’m old

Man as a Memphis native, I loved Drumma Boy beats. I searched “prod by Drumma Boy” on YouTube. I found the Money to Blow and liked it. Then, in the comments I saw everybody talking about “who’s here after Wayne spit his verse?!” I decided to look more into it and his music and it was a wrap after that 😭😤

Lol definitely. I was in high school trying to put EVERYBODY on. Man even with Wiz, I was blasting Say Yeah in 08 along with a couple of more songs from his Prince of the City tapes. I think when Flight School came out, that's when I really felt like Drake was changing the game. That taped sounded heavily influenced by Drake and different from some of his previous ones

Oh hell yeah. You’re preaching to the choir brother. I’m from Pittsburgh so Wiz coming up was crazy. POTC2 and then Say Yeah released when I was in Jr High and then by the time I was in High School, Deal or New Deal dropped and EVERYONE in our area loved him. Still loved wiz though out his run but I knew after hearing Drake in 09 that there was something different. Everyone knew I was the go to drake stan. Had to weather the storm at times when ppl were calling him soft n what not lol but i knew he was different. What a fun decade it’s been

Oh yeah, you definitely know then lol. Drake was definitely the newcomer I would've invested in, but Wiz was a distant second. I felt like a proud father when they started getting their shine
