This is the second album from Steve Lacy I've seen get massive praise just for me to finally listen to it and be extremely disappointed by damn near everything I heard.

I'm just gonna stick with Demo and Lo-Fi's. Dude has so much potential, like it's there but for some reason these full length projects are just not hitting the way I hope for them to. The albums come off as so derivative of his influences that I don't get a sense of his own identity. Maybe one day it will click. He's gotta classic in him I'm sure of that.
