is life expectancy really related to health expenditure? I thought places like Japan and Switzerland had high lifespans because of the lifestyle and diet??

I think the other thing you have to look at here is the fact the US is spending this much but also has the worst health outcomes. Certainly there are other factors (not gonna pretend to be an expert ) but for the U.S. to be such an outlier on that chart to me is proof of how wasteful our system is.

true. I'm not an expert either but it's good to have dialogue about the expenses. we spend so much on our defense budget while s*** like this is happening
