Before you talk about how Drake is the best selling hip hop artist of all time, "father of streaming", does/doesn't have classics, etc. listen.
As most of y'all know, I'm a newer Drake stan. Wasn't really a big fan until the Views era, and started stanning a few months ago. But one thing I've noticed is that some of y'all - not all, but some - are WAY too obsessed with numbers. Like can you actually take the song apart and appreciate it for what it is?
Y'all are so quick to call a single that doesn't go #1 a flop or if a ep/mixtape go gold in a week it's a failure or commercial bomb. What happened to genuinely loving the music and art he puts out? Y'all are so concerned with the sales and chart positions the love of art and music is thrown out the music. THIS is why 60% of the site hates you. So many of y'all aren't here for the music. I get that we have the clownery and classic threads and all, but sometimes it's straight up embarrassing and cringeworthy. Every time someone mentions Drake yall turn it into a stan war and all you can bring up is sales and chart positions and streams because you don't care about the music at all. There are some other things (the election thread was VERY revealing) but it gets the point that I sometimes wanna take CLB out my name completely, cuz y'all give us such a bad rep. I'm not gonna call any names, as this obviously isn't the majority, but the few of y'all who do really screw it up for the rest of us.
I do wanna make it clear that CLB has become the scapegoat for ethering users for no reason and starting stan wars that don't need to exist, but that's a discussion for another thread.
its not that serious lol

i know but it's just annoying. you can't complain everyone hates you, but never think about why. it's pretty obvious imo
I agree OP it’s weird. They Stan the man Drake not the music, because that obviously took a dip, but Drake himself has become more successful.

No not really
20% of people hate on drake because they think hating anything popular is a personality trait, they want to be different so bad they’re willing to be contrarians because they think liking a popular artist makes them sheep
The other 30% are just salty Kanye stans & the rest just bait for attention, likes or a hit thread

I noticed that this obsession with numbers happened once Hotline Bling peaked at #2
Some of yall be acting like female pop stans from Twitter. Drake deserves better fans

very well-put
i’m embarrassed to say i like a Drake song nowadays because i don’t wanna be associated with Papi’s Angels
the Barbz ruined Nicki for me years ago (then Nicki ruined Nicki for me), please don’t do that to Drake
Sparkle up the wrist, thats a big MOOOD
AYYY THINGS GOING MY WAY BIG MOOD
Even though its well put, OP. But I disagree, now before you talk about how Drake is the best selling hip hop artist of all time, "father of streaming", does/doesn't have classics, etc. listen.
