Listening to The Crashing Sound rn. You’d think he would be a KTT fav cause this man just went into 20 different directions within the 9 songs I’ve just listened to

Majority of KTT only listens to the same junk

i really love this dude and its a shame he never amassed a bigger following. when i first came across him years ago, i thought he'd have a LUM-like cult following trajectory but that just never materialized

he fell between the cracks of hack blog rap where all the bandcamp tape label operators got caught being s***pests or alienated everyone cos they dipped and ran with vinyl money

really weird all the talents of that era are mostly memory holed but still have a solid 20k youtube view type following, always hoped cities would have produced for more of that peak sLUms crew era or ran a bit more like zelooperz but his s*** is still good so who cares

ha yeah that's the main offender they thought they could pretend to be the next rough trade to launder money

they were too busy dropping noisey journalists into neighbourhoods to exploit on video when they should have been shining a light on that s***

it's a older dude from brooklyn who started this underground music label years ago, mainly selling vinyl & casettes. he was known for getting licenses early on to a lot of super iconic albums like LUM's MBTI/Oblivion Access (this was before Hundebiss, Hyv, & Fashionable Death) and Yung Lean's early mixtape run. Dude swiped up a ton of licenses from niche artists who got big through bandcamp & soundcloud in the early-mid 10s but was basically known for rarely fulfilling orders, ignoring customer support, and borderline if not completely scamming customers. If you google his name you'll see thread after thread on places like reddit just complaining about being scammed Dude almost singlehandedly destroyed the underground bandcamp/sc scene by kneecapping LP & merch distribution for a lot of artists who would have been way more popular (or better financed) w/ the right merch teams

yeah infamously he even scammed death grips into getting a (real) license for Exmilitary on cassette in 2011 but then tried bootlegging their entire discog on cassette in like 2015 and didn't fulfill any of the bootleggers anyway i think he actually did get a C&D from Death Grips tho
