Kendrick’s just always been open about his struggles and on the penultimate song on damn he details how fear has been a recurring factor that’s kept him anxious and in self doubt, on Mr morale he delves deeper as to where his fear stems from and on count me out the first in a series of songs on Mr morale where he goes into detail on where this fear and anxiety comes from and really what it is, on Wacced on murals Kendrick seems like he’s completely defeated fear, seeming extremely confident and beyond it and it’s a taste of what’s to come on his most braggadocios album, one where he’s defeated self doubt, anxiety and fear. And these were all years apart so it’s just been very interesting to watch throughout.
