Man literally blew up as a sound cloud rapper and now he is tapping into the pop country lane

His core audience is shifting so hard. My 55 year old parents saw him headline a rodeo in Texas and they LOVED him

Props to him because he is certainly collecting a bag

  • that was the plan all along

It's hard to stay on top in rap. Country has much lower standards and lower churn

  • This feels like it’s been his audience for the last idk 5 years though?

turns out that quote of him saying hip-hop isn't a genre you should listen to when you want to "feel something" was actually just how he sincerely felt. i genuinely defended that as him badly phrasing a point about how vapid mainstream rap can be, but i was giving him too much credit lol.

  • post malone just got hated on so much by Charlemagne and more people for stealing black culture why would he stick with that hating ass genre

  • Jun 21

no joke it's some s*** straight out of Atlanta.

but it's smart for him to take this lane.

Country has much more active legacy acts. Guys from the 90s are still touring year round on private jets while dropping dogshit even by their standards

to be fair, apart from his early fake ghetto accent, he's always dabbled in a lot of genres.

Genuinely feel so weird about his s*** now. His whole first few albums seem so fake in hindsight.

If you look at the list of biggest jet polluters it's like ~10 country acts.
