This is a new series I will be doing every week. I will be discussing a different rapper every week. It will consist of rappers that are overrated on the internet, average or flat out garbage and shouldn't be praised to the level they are. This will undeniably cause certain people to feel emotionally frustrated and derail threads. The hopes of this series is to discuss rappers other than Kendrick, Drake, and Kanye, and also help explain why some rap fans dont enjoy some rappers and whether others can explain their defense of others.
Week 1 will be Freddie Gibbs
Freddie is Overrated for the following reasons:
1. He has 1 flow
2. His delivery is monotonous
3. He has no rap intangibles at all
4. A lot of his songs sound the same
5. His bars are masked by his rapid fire approach to rap.
6. His cadence is below average.
Overall, Freddie is just an average rapper who isn't talented at making music. One of the big issues I find with him is the fact that there is no real feeling or life in his music. Freddie raps from the perspective of the streets and often from his perspective but it always comes off as if he's rapping from 3rd person while trying to narrate his own life. None of his songs pack a punch. Take for instance, another mid-west rapper, G Herbo.
I don't think Kane has a single song as emotional as this s*** and he's supposed to be a street rapper. For someone who was a gangbanger, there's really no vivid imagery in his music. You can tell Herbo's really been through it and really misses his friend Kobe. Freddie doesn't tap into emotions at all.
Discuss.
Good thing you didn't start off with Drake or your thread would be locked away immediately
Freddie is underrated if anything IMO
Dude ain’t no lyrical genius but he doesn’t get the attention he deserves

Well Freddie kinda ruined the possibility of him becoming a decent name in rap when he had bad blood with Jeezy.
Freddie had a chance to expand but his personality didnt let him.
I think he gets the attention he deserves to an extent
He's definitely not an overrated artist in general, but those who do listen to him tend to overrate him.
Dope emcee overall tho.
Some cool tracks here and there but there's no resonance between me and his music that'll spark a drive to continuously bump his stuff.

No one overrates him
