This is the downside of forums dying out in favor of Reddit. Everything is centralized on that s*** website
lol just use baidu it’s pretty much the same as reddit
the craziest thing is the corny little mods just decided to shut down the subs without even polling the subscribers or users in general
like okay the blackout from 6/12 to 6/14 is corny enough but now we have a bunch of subreddits with tens of millions of subscribers closed indefinitely because a few wacko mods said so
can't make this up!
and don't forget the reasoning behind all this. it's a bunch of freeloaders crying because they don't want to pay for an API! christs sake

They don't like the oficial reddit app and are mad that the developers of unofficial apps are going to be charged by reddit now...
I think that's it..
The last time something of this scale happened on reddit was because they banned /r/FatPeopleHate

Reddit is charging thousands of dollars to 3rd party apps or something like that. And because the app creators won't be able to pay that much, their apps won't be available to use on reddit anymore. A lot of users are pissed because they only use those apps to browse reddit because reddit's official mobile app is s***.

Lol 3rd party apps can most definitely afford the price. They sell ads and premium memberships. Both sides just being stingy
But it’s also cool to see actual online mobilization to try to effect change
We did it Reddit.
Hope the site crashes and burns but unfortunately i doubt this will turn out to be be anything more than a brief dark period and it will bounce back. Would be great if it just got wiped from existence though
