yeah and we've largely progressed past a point to where that is no longer socially acceptable because surprisingly enough being demeaning to minority groups no matter how "ironic" isn't a good thing for that group
things change, someone wanting to be racist/homophobic/whatever online isn't gonna change that, there are other places you can do that, such as 4chan but don't be surprised when people in general aren't going to react happily to it

Yea I'd have to say we haven't progressed a whole lot. Definitely not as much as people might think.
Only difference is now there is a ton of virtue signaling and capping for internet pats on the back.
Behind closed doors and in their own circles people still the same as always. Racism is funny. I know most aren't gonna admit that online but the s*** is funny when it's not directed at you.
