Out at orchestral album
Also all the people outing themselves in this thread about what kind of specific music they care about. Shallow.
Orchestral/classical stuff is some of the best music ever composed, let the man do something new with music after leaving his band.
Reminds me of when RAM dropped and people called it pop trash
The announcement states that over the last thirty years Bangalter has "explored the world of technology" with electronic music and sees him now exploring “humankind” in this album with him quoting ancient and modern myths.
TBH, Daft Punk went full boomer on RAM ("Laptops suck bro!"). This seems more of the same. Did he just regress into a normal ass white dude who circlejerks over Greek mythology and s***? IDK, Daft Punk is my favorite group of all-time, but I don't have too high expectations for this one. I will still listen and maybe s*** will be amazing, he is capable of anything. Daft Punk did attempt orchestral tracks with the Tron Legacy score, I don't see how this one will be too different (of course without the electronic stuff).
All in all, I am happy that he still makes music.
Tron: Legacy's score wasn't arranged by Daft Punk for an entire orchestra iirc. They wrote a lot of the music and the orchestral parts were arranged with help from Joseph Trapanese.
This will be an entire composition by Bangalter for a full orchestra, something in the press release that he said he hadn't gotten to fully explore.

Been a Daft Punk fan since you were in diapers. Stfu and keep it moving bozo
If going full boomer let’s you make one of the most well orchestrated and produced albums of the last decade then that sounds like a W too me

This music has already been performed. Maybe someone can look at the reviews of the performancey to find out more?

This is an orchestral album focusing on Baroque style music that is accompanying a ballet, so if you’re not into that don’t get excited lol
