Y’all itt talking like 24 isn’t the new 17. You haven’t seen all the articles about how people in their 20s can’t get a place of their own even after college? It’s bad out there, the days of moving out at 18 are gone. Perpetual/extended adolescence is the new norm

so many young people move out and go straight to debt or never save any money, but hey it beats living with your parents stay at home if you cant afford it

  • When the beds rockin don’t come knockin

  • This thread takes me back to the days I would sneak a girl in the crib and lock my door and turn the volume on Netflix all the way up and go to work

Good days wish I had those times back.

dont think to much about it. ask your parents if its cool you have a girl over and if they say no it is what it is. if they say yes, they are grown and understand what you are gonna do lol

Yeah but 24 you're old enough to move past the awkward moving around stage. At that point you're an adult similar to a roommate

Where? It's not impossible since I have had homies who done it as well, but the difference is I have a lot more in savings and in my investments compared to those guys. The other difference is that they're one car accident away from losing it all and I have a safety net that I can still eat comfortably for 6 months.

Northern Cali, so it wasn't cheap, but it wasn't impossible. Tbf I didn't really have a choice in the matter, as I didn't really have a parents' house to go back to.
6 months to live on is great and more than the avg American has saved, but by like 25,26,27 I'd expect you to have a down payment on a house saved up if you've living rent free this whole time

So like I’m 24, and my new gf, me and her we have s***in my car but it’s uncomfortable and hard, and we both live at home with our families, like I want to have fun with her in my bed, but my mom works from home and my father is retired

I have my own bedroom upstairs on the other side of the house, what are your thoughts on me just asking if I can bring her over?

Just introduce her ( if you haven’t just yet)

Then go to your room. Do your thing.

    Not that complicated

OP just talk to your parents respectfully about the situation you’re a grown adult I’m sure they can understand

but u cant say maturity hasnt slowed down too

i mean with this lack of money comes a lack of responsibilities. people are having kids later, making major life moves like buying a house later etc. i know people who are in their late 30s who havent hit those milestones yet

theres no doubt imo that maturity has been delayed and many are living their childhood dreams out as adults
