Back in the 60s when the Black Panthers were arming themselves and exercising their 2nd amendment rights , Reagan who was the California governor at the time passed the "Mulford Act" a gun control law that prevented the open carry of loaded guns.
"the bill was crafted in response to members of the Black Panther Party who were lawfully conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods, in what would later be termed copwatching. They garnered national attention after Black Panthers members, bearing arms, marched upon the California State Capitol to protest the bill."

Its funny how racists only like the 2nd amendment when whites are exercising their rights...
I personally think the 2nd amendment is a necessity and that black people should be owning firearms legally.
"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Big support for it
We should encourage more black gun ownership and invest community resources into defense funds to protect those owners
Exercise your second amendment right and arm yourself
Having a gun will give the cops an excuse in court, it's a two edged sword
This is why I was always scared to carry a pocket knife even thought it would've come in handy a couple times.
Can't win.
Having a gun will give the cops an excuse in court, it's a two edged sword
in a perfect world, nothing would happen if you have the right documentation and legally carry a firearm. but the world is obviously not perfect
Yo the posts on this site are getting better.. I never heard of the Mulford act, that’s nasty. Never heard of copwatching either, f*** American education.
Having a gun will give the cops an excuse in court, it's a two edged sword
Exactly what I was gonna say
We can never truly win
more nonwhites need to exercise their 2nd amendment right. i guarantee cops and laws are gonna turn real quick though
Not a fan of gun ownership in general, but I understand the necessity for it.
The fact is, there are different unwritten rules for black gun owners in America. The NRA is not here to protect black gun owners no matter how hard they may try to manipulate their public image.
When you own a gun you are instantly increasing your chances of being a victim of gun violence. If you a black and own a gun those chance multiply even more.
If a huge chunk of black people purchased guns all at once I promise you we get new gun legislation overnight.
