Generally fine. I prefer when there are player options and choices that go into it. If it’s just something inherently part of the story with no player input then it’s harder to make it work well.

I don’t even mind if the romance is blatant fanservice like it was in Fire Emblem Fates. It got us more child units that we could optimize and they all had pretty cool designs. But it made more sense and was implemented much better in Awakening.

The only thing I don’t like when it comes to romance is that most Japanese games are half assed with it. Show me them kissing or f***ing damn. Got me blue balled the whole game. Now I gotta search the R34 myself
