I've said this before but the whole "Big 3" thing is proof that most of KTT is capping when they say they don't care about sales.
Cause music careers and sales/charts are the main basis for being considered "Big 3."
And the Big 3 is pretty much exclusively a 2010's phenomena and we're not gonna get another one, just like we didn't have one in the 90's/00's.
Time to give it up and just treat rappers like we did prior to the 2010's.
sales yes but it's more distorted than that nowadays
Y'all some drama queens, for real
It's all good, though
The reason being Drake, Cole, & Kendrick fit a certain criteria and niche that MOST Rappers releasing music today will not cover and that's the dedication to their artistry. And that makes the GREAT difference on why no one can remove them from those positions. And the proof of it is existing within their discographies that are referenced 24/7 on here. Like hell, every song on TPAB just went platinum ??? Stop posting threads with the bullshit.
Yes there are rappers WHO do numbers, and you have rappers who ACTUALLY put effort in with their craft but the scale tilts heavier on one side than the other with most, most time. Hate it or love it, a lot of these new act aren't even top 5 quality when it comes to the top 3
You guys like Big Sean (Could Be in the Top 4 but doesn't cut thru like the other 3), Rocky, Ross (Another 1), Meek, Baby, Isaiah, Earl, G Herbo etc. ALL could have a shot at the s*** but it's not happening for one reason is THE ARTISTRY of the foundation they set in place in the beginning of their careers ONCE they hit mainstream
For example one of the biggest mistakes I see baby making now is literally trying to pull a Lil Wayne THIS early in his career instead of conservatively killing s*** that's in align with a new solo album for the future...
So many factors throw so many people out of the top 3
and hate to say it....
but cole is close to NOT being top 3 anymore, big sean drop some s*** hotter than cole last album he's outta there no doubt
Earl.

I feel like it's more the Big 3 as opposed to the Top 3.
The problem is Cole isn't "noteworthy" to nerds who only discuss music online and aren't around a lot of regular ass people. I personally think Future has always been top 3 but think the reason he isn't put next to Drake and Kendrick is because his music isn't "white" enough.
Future is more of his own wave.
He was not in that freshman class if you catch me.

Irrelevant
Heβs a rapper with mainstream success who very clearly defined last decade
These imaginary rules you guys use are hilarious
f*** no, if that's the case Big Sean is top 3 over both of them
future would be top 5 tho
Implying Big Sean is talented??? Delete the thread
Cole is mos def top 3 LOL stfu ignorant children.
Over Fewtch, Mac or Nicki? Foh. By no definable method

Yeah, heβs their βgood boyβ like Darius Rucker
Not shouting at them like dark skinned Kendrick
βThe top 3 will not changeβ
βJ Cole might not be too 3 soonβ
All I heard was βI canβt find any music I like these daysβ

that just says more about where you live/ who you hang with and nothing about cole.

Suburban confirmed

This isn't close to true lol. Cole probably has a higher ratio of Black fans than Drake/Kendrick tbh.
what's up with the font in thread title
This top 3 narrative is old.
Does Kendrick still deserve his spot when he's not active?
What make someone top 3? Are we ranking historical numbers over current presence?
Drake and Coleβs presence is felt. kendrick is not.

Kendrick's presence was felt during last summers protests + many fans want him to drop an album
I'd say he's still relevant
