(CNN)Three people were pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, according to tweets from Austin-Travis County EMS.

The shooting appears to be "a domestic situation that is isolated," a tweet from Austin police said. The suspect is still at large, and residents should still shelter in place and report any suspicious activity, according to the tweet.
Police said that it appears there is no risk to the general public.
Earlier Sunday, Austin police, fire and EMS all responded to the city's Great Hills Trail and Rain Creek Parkway area, where they found three people suffering gunshot wounds, according to officials.

Stricter gun measures seems like a short term response, but its beyond clear now that there is a sizable portion of our population that are suffering severe sociopathic/psychopathic issues and something needs to be done for this as well. We don’t really see this being discussed by anyone other than gun nuts who try to find a scapegoat, but it should be blatant that this is a serious issue that needs to be tackled in addition to gun reform.

Ya i agree for the most part. I can empathize with some forms of mental illness, ie anxiety, depression, ive even witnessed ppl with bipolar in manic state.

But i just cannot fathom how you can be in such a psychosis that you murder multiple people and then in most cases turn the gun on theirself. Like not trying to be callous but if youre gonna kys why do you have to bring others who dont deserve to die with you

I think people in that state are beyond help, its a shame but it is what it is. What we got to do is find the sources on whats causing these people to go off the deep end n the first place and come up with preventative measures
