Yea nah this ain’t it. I’m glad people enjoyed it. But nah they fumbled this whole first season to me. Only a quarter of the way through the finale but the way they’re pretty much rushing through the Wallfacer induction is so f***ing underwhelming. Wade mentions it off handedly at the end of episode 7, and boom he created it now. Like this is ridiculous. Just b******ized the whole thing. The frustrating part is that they could’ve kept this pace up, and still did the books justice, but they just leaned into making this a “blockbuster” which just butchered the start of the story.

I honestly hope they course correct in season 2. Imma peep to see cause I love the books so much, but if it’s more of this… I’m good on it.

I implore you all to read the books, get audiobooks even, the VA is great. Even if you actually liked this show, I still would recommend you read the books. It’s different enough that you can like them for different reasons. Although I think you’ll find one lacking.

I never wanted a 1:1 adaptation, it’d never work for this. They just leaned into the wrong things at the wrong part of the story imo.

they made it seem like mini jolie lookin girl was the main character and she NOPES the f*** out of the show for the majority of the tail end and also SHES F***ING AWFUL. she sucks so much as a character.

was the cancer dude smart? he never contributed anything to the story or friend group really. buddy reading the story to them and being like " oh f*** yeah we lie! let me tell you exactly what it is" and not stop for even a second to think about what the hell he was saying. top tier stupidity.

the other girl legit just lying at the end saying " i love him" BIIIISSH no you dont! never once even expressed a kind glance this niggas way but all of a sudden she loves him? when he drifted off after the failed test i laughed so hard bc GOOD.

im just annoyed i watch this lmao. the story had potential but it seems like...it went sort of no where. nothing really has changed at the last episode.

also who built the headsets?? like...what did they use? i get telling us about the tech but thats a worlds difference over BUILDING it and making it functional. they said it was 100 years more advanced than their current tech. so how did they get it?? lol
