u could be a good parent and teach your kid to think for themself and not be swayed by outside influences

That's true, but also I think in the future limiting their usage of devices is going to be a necessity.

one day we gonna have a conversation about TikTok in relation to music but not yet

I get where ur coming from, i thought the same exact way about the app a few months ago, u should honestly give it a chance some time, let the algorithm get what ur into, its not all e-boys and underage white girls dancing i promise

I found this painter guy who matches the color of the paint on his paper to random objects and its mad satisfying, theres a bunch of random cool s*** like that ull come across on the app, i saw a dude shave a sheep on there, tons of beat makers post videos on there, like it could be majority garbage but when u find ur lane its nice

Sheep shaving does sound cool as f*** though

I'll have to maybe redownload it at some point, but I will still probably think it's extremely toxic.

    things been like that bro
if you give teenagers the tools to post what they want to the world it’s gonna be a reflection of being a teenager which is not exactly a pleasant period

You're right but the only influence that they had before was more localized. The social media era made it way different as a social dynamic.

Yeah bro I downloaded the app and the first thing I saw was some teenager shaking her ass to some street rap

for me the algorithim has brown tik tok where other people my age talk about their immigrant experiences do comedy skits I always enjoy that. Favorite part of tik tok is probably all the nostalgia stuff realizing I wasn't alone in the some of the things I did as kid we all collectively had similair experiences its been cool to connect with that. Also tailors in bodybuilding stuff for me I see new fire recipes every day for my diet in quick cut videos. Non stop hilarious skits connected to my interests. I am freaked out by how it honed in exact girls I would like tho

This is the nature of an algorithm. It’s going to reflect society and the biases that exist in society. Remember that AI Microsoft chatbot that got turned into a Nazi?

By no means is it acceptable but no social media has figured out how to properly police content and not let the algorithm reflect hate
