People liken tiktok to vine but it’s not the same thing. Vine definitely had some dogshit content but it was so much more wholesome than whatever the f*** were dealing with now. And if what we see on the frontline is only a result of the algorithm pushing what we want more of, what the f*** is wrong with people?

how is it different than vine

when you post it gets really interesting. they really place the stuff you post in front of the people who would love it if your vid hits the algorithm

capping for destructive social media sites that treat you like nothing but data and numbers is crazy though

longer than 7 seconds and up to a minute i think, best algorithm so it usually serves you everything youd find interesting better than other platforms

social media sucks anyway but is a definitive thing in the world so might as well find joy out if it if you can...

Prime tumblr is the best social media followed by Twitter followed by prime MySpace. Tik Tok is barely ‘okay’

the algorithm is bolstered by the nature of the platform

-high volume of data (while you would only be able to watch like 2-3 things on Netflix in like 3 hours, you could watch 100s of tiktoks in that time)

-positive and negative feedback (other platforms like twitter and instagram can only base their suggestions off likes, while tiktok can also gather pretty effective data on your dislikes by seeing which videos and when you swipe off of them)
