OP's coworker: I'm going hiking for the first time tomorrow ๐
OP: Good riddance
Side note:
I figured out a way to understand words like they're, we're, you're etc
You're is "you are" put together
So ex. -> Youre here = You are here
They're = They are (together)
They are gone now
They're gone now
Aren't = are not
We're = we are
Etc.
Im great and always excelled at writing and English, but I dont know the proper word for these kind of words and rules - but the easiest way to think of them imo is like a compound word

You always excelled at English but you just figured this out?
Tbf its never really used outside of that phrase
Even more reason to know what it means if the one time you use it could end up life or death
Riddance
Rid
Getting rid of -> relief of something
Good -> positive
Good getting rid of
Good to get rid of you
Good riddance
Glad to be rid of you -> a positive for you, an insult for them
Basically โFOHโ in yt terms
Weird to think that these men are both dead now

I see a lot of native speakers mix up โitโs and itsโ
itโs = it is
its = shows possession of whatever โitโ is referring to
The apostrophe is confusing because โ(noun)โsโ is how we show possession
