I remember watching some documentary where (I think) Dr. Dre said Snoop would just freestyle in the booth and that would be the final take of the song. Apparently all of Doggystyle was done that way, at least.
Man they were saying that s*** to gas up the documentary.
One of Dre’s engineers about Doggystyle “You'll look around the room and every cat that was a rapper – from Kurupt to Daz to Snoop – will grab a pen. They would start writing while Dre is making a beat so by the time he's finished with the beat, they are ready to hit the booth and start spittin”
“It was a skill I took up at a little white junior high school I went to. They gave a n**** typing classes, and I took it,” He been writing/typing since high school
Snoop been known to gas up his past and he’s revealed a lot of truths recently. Nigga had ghostwriters and openly admits it cause he became uninterested in rapping when his other ventures took off

That honestly sounds plausible. A lot of Snoop's music past the mid 90s was f***ing lazy until he kind of came back with R&G and Blue Carpet Treatment.
In any case, I don't get the impression that Snoop is dumb though. He's maintained his relevancy in rap and even just popular culture for nearly 30 years. Only him, Nas, and Hov could drop a rap album at 50+ and still have a strong mainstream audience.

Oh yea I was in no way insinuating he’s dumb, nigga has transcended further than any of his peers.
I was just saying he has walked back and continues to walk back a lot of things people assumed about him and his career. Pretty sure when he admitted to the ghostwriting it was on some major records too, like Jay writing every line of Still DRE
