The Japanese Temptations. not quite but the vibes are there. The vocal quintet repping from Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Formed in 1968, the band consisted of members Yasuo Tai, Shizuo Noguchi, Sadaaki Teshigahara, Haruya Yoshimura, and Kohei Sugie. The quintet has been active since the 1970s and have continued to stick together. Contributing their vocal talent on many multi media projects over the years.
The group's production is very serene and nature inspired. Almost relieving hearing their musicality as if it's the sound of water flowing through the stream. Jazz Fusion indeed, the group can also adapt to the funky stylings of City Pop if need be.The Japanese quintet has these "doomsday harmonies" that set them apart from their Western/American counterparts. Compared to the West optimistic, triumphant harmonies, Time Five's evoke a haunting and somber quality. The message is about love and heartbreak but they sound like the angels cheering for you as you are risen up to heaven. It's eerie but that's what makes them an easy listening band in the first place. The Doo Wop influence is insanely evident and is something that ya'll should check out.

Wow this is cool as hell. How did you even discover them?
Through a Japanese Funk & Jazz/City Pop playlist on Youtube from way back. They had one of their songs on there and I was hooked on them ever since
The 3rd song under examples was sampled by AZ and Rick Ross for their song Never Enough.

I think you gotta split up the @s (I usually do five per post when I'm @ a bunch of people) because I didn't get a notification for this
Good looks though, will listen soon
@op if I wanted to start with a full album would you recommend starting with Gentle Breeze or a different one?

Gentle Breeze is the most accessible imo. Start with that first then if you like it build your way through their other material.
