There’s some incredible songs on it for sure. Love Paranoid, RoboCop, Street Lights. Very consistent imo. But I agree that there is something missing from the overall package. Bottom tier but still a great album.

A lot of people conflate it’s influence with its quality. So underrated it’s becoming overrated lol

Imagine having this opinion

I was with my first love when 808s and heartbreak came out (17) and I remember everybody bashing it and me thinking, wtf? This is classic s***. You being 11, you could not experience and relate to the album the way some of us older people did. There’s a reason it’s so critically acclaimed now. And maybe you can relate to some of the topics now if you been in a relationship but experiencing those things when the album first came out made it special. At least to me.
