It's funny to think that we were so thirsty for the follow-up to Channel Orange after four years and now we're approaching seven since Blonde

In The Sun's Tirade itself, Isaiah made fun of how long he took to drop the follow-up to Cilvia Demo (two year gap), then we had to wait FIVE years for his next next s*** (and he had even said in 2016 he was going to drop music more frequently, lmfao)

Amusingly they both dropped within two weeks of each other too lol

Any other examples of artists following up what felt like a long gap for fans with an even longer gap? This is not a thread to criticize the artists for taking so long btw, I know s*** happens, just curious to think of other ones

Eminem gap between Recovery and MMLP2 then MMLP2 to the album that shall not be named.
The second time, what was delivered wasn’t even good either

I mean Isaiah Rashad was dealing with a d*** addiction and almost got dropped from TDE. He may have actually intended to drop more but wasn’t in the right space.

Ab-Soul has huge gaps between drops too for similar reasons.

Pusha T literally said an album was coming the January after Daytona. I know we got an album since then but he spoke a lot about dropping the following year but never did
