and Brat is debatable.It's a post a few posts above saying it's the greatest contemporary pop album. Also I'm generally seeing it in the same conversation as the two I mentioned lol, just hasn't clicked like that for me, YET.

It's the bottom half of Popstar holding me back! But I remember it took me some spins for a couple of the BRAT songs to grow on me, so...there's always time.

I think brat felt like an era which is understandable. musically I do feel like it comes close without a lot of the cultural moments Brat has (girl so confusing, the cover art and memeification of it, etc) but to me it feels like that same triumph of Charli finally getting the commercial success she deserves. the era is just now kicking off so we really don’t know where Popstar is gonna go but i would re assess in about a year. like at the very least a remix album is definitely coming

fair enough. as far as production and vocal performance i cud see the debate. but that doesnt take away from heavy weight for me and i prefer the poignancy of its songwriting more as well. good to know she set the precedent for this earlier in her work tho
