im tired of working at a desk and not doing more creative project type stuff that can flourish and turn into a source of income and and outlet to express and grow as a person.
what are some things i can break into or start.
art?
film editor youtube type stuff?
please give me real suggestions!
You're probably just average and meant to work a "normal" job. 99% of the population is. Kinda sucks but unless you have an incredible lucrative talent, you probably won't be doing anything like that. Just be realistic and grateful you can do it. Start with a side hustle and polish your skills
I wanna maybe try and start recording hikes.
I mean hikes generally arent all that exciting, but with proper film and angles and editing it can look awesome right??
anyone can get me on right path for film editing amatuer freelance style.
like what beginner camera, softwares, etc?

Generally software for video editing is just Adobe Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas, there's a plethora of different cameras though so there's no one basic recommended beginner camera
(At least not that I know of for videography)

this guy uses a phone and a gopro 80% of the time. yes drone shots and the locations help, but my point is its doable w not a lot
think he uses just regular imovie too
trying to carry your life financially via artistic expression is incredibly stressful not to mention difficult
to offer a perspective outside white collar job > get money or creative job > get money....
personally I decided to just minimize my expenses. very modest house/mortgage, low-paying job with great benefits, old vehicles,
so my creative outlets are just for fun instead of filled with stress because I need them to generate income

i'm from the south so i'm used to a s*** ton of rednecks where i'm from. so i was expecting it to be different when i traveled up north but SD (at least where i went) is like Alabama with northern accents lots of farmers, pick up trucks etc. they were all nice to me tho

i dont want instant gratification.

how would this immediately gratify you? you're still gonna have to learn to shoot and edit, the iphone is just a way to get started asap.
you should use inexpensive gear (like an iphone) to see whether you actually like making videos
waiting to buy an expensive camera is actually a form of procrastination - you don't actually want to do the WORK, you just like the idea of being a "creative type"
which is to say, shoot your next hike on your iphone, download adobe premiere, and make a video, ,and stop posting about it wondering why you hate your life. come on its the weekend bro
