If the age for purchasing alcohol and cigarettes are now 21 I don't see how it's a weird comparison to say purchasing and possessing guns, which falls under the same authority as alcohol and tobacco, shouldn't be allowed until 21. There are stats saying that raising the purchase age lowers gun violence.
