I regard this project as the sister album to Views. It corrected the mistake Views made in not having a lot of great rap moments while sticking true to the more melodic approach to the album.
Free Smoke, Sacrifices, Gyalchester, KMT, Do Not Disturb, Lose You, Portland are the type of records Views was either missing or tried to do but ultimately failed. I still wish Two Birds, One Stone and Sneakin' made the project. Those two songs alone would have made the rap on More Life better by a large margin.
Fake Love, Passionfruit, Madiba Riddim, and Blem are the B-sides to Hotline Bling, Feel No Ways, One Dance and Controlla respectively. To this day my opinion on which group are better switches from time to time.
The R&B moments weren't as good on More Life compared to Views (Keep the Family Close, Redemption, Fire & Desire) but still Teenage Fever, Nothings Into Somethings, and Since Way Back are great entries into that lane nonetheless.
A lot of people hated on Glow but I actually kind of like that song I don't really get the hate but it definitely didn't NEED to be on the project.
My only gripes with the project:
---The whole "playlist" angle. It was a really cool concept in theory, the whole "OVO Sound Radio but with all new Drake songs" thing, but he didn't really do much to showcase it so it just ended up sounding like another Drake album.
---Skepta on there but Drake not being on the song is missed opportunity (especially now that it seems Skepta is retiring so we never get a Drake x Skepta track after this Drake literally got tattoo related to him)
---Wayne saying he's here to talk about More Life and then proceed to not appear again in any way got to be one of the weirdest decisions Drake has ever made. Pump fake for absolutely no reason.
---And again Two Birds, One Stone and Sneakin' not being on there. Just weird those songs are some of his best. I wonder why they weren't added.
Overall great project that I can't for the life me get why some people considered it his worst. I wish the way he cared about song transitions and cohesiveness he showcased on Views and More Lifes makes a return on Certified Lover Boy because Scorpion just sounded so lost and lifeless without it.
