But he wasn't going to get the #1 debut so he made the post teaching his fans about the VPN trick/ the playlist trick/ play it while you're sleeping.

Why get the public shame when you can just buy a #1?

Drakes infrastructure is probably way better. And Beiber hadnt released in several years

How do u guys believe any of his numbers are organic when every big corporation pushes his music to the top of every playlist before its released lmao

You cant be that dense to think this happens to every track he releases right?

Pushing a song is called promotion, which all labels do for songs they want to rise

The Box was a sleeper hit then pushed to every playlist rightfully so, where’s your post about that

  • Apr 7, 2020

On top of the fact that it takes more than just playlist placements and tweets to get people to listen to a song more than once

Answer my question or? Like how is this organic when he gets tons of promotion beforehand from huge companies

Its like he runs political campaigns with his music

What promotiom did he get before hand? Spotify and Apple music's most streamed Artist is Drake. Therefore they are doing themselves a favour by promoting his music as that in theory would gain them more subscribers and listens on their platform

I don’t believe numbers should define the quality of a song, and I think some pop fans that are numbers obsessed are lost in life.

BUT, I feel damn good that I love this song and seems like most of the world does as well. Dancing to this for the rest of the year...

    Infrastructure?

If you can juke the stats what's the point?

If every artist does it but it only works for Drake. Then I'll say how come he's an outlier? And it can't be his infrastructure.

I was told this song was a flop, no one likes it, it's TikTok bait and everyone sees through it.

Since the #'s don't reflect that, the next thing is that the #'s aren't real.

Drake infrastructure is basically his close knit group of friends who he empowers and maybe distantly Lebron. He's also an independent artist. Scooter is a huge music titan, if Justin couldn't go number 1 that means that the position can't be bought

Right so thats the promotion hes getting beforehand. Apple and Spotify want to make a lot of money off of him as they have in the past so they place their bets on this single being a hit and do everything they can.

But they don't really know if the song's gonna be a hit, but they're willing to promote the hell out of it to make sure it is.

    Signed directly to universal now
He just pulls up with the music than they pay him

Nope, just the distribution deal with republic. I think with the way the music industry has been going over the last 5 years artists would be smarter to cut short term deals with streaming services after developing buzz than actual record labels

Its not that simple to just buy streams or promotion as this had been proven countless times
People have to actually listen to the music and f*** with it
Spotify and AM put drake at the top of their playlist because it benefits them as drake brings listeners

Drake has built his brand up to a point where just his attachment to something can prove to be profitable in the short term. Passing on that Tidal exclusivity deal may have been one of the best move in his career in retrospect.
