I don't see Drake viewing TS as lead single material. I think it was just a way of him getting his feet wet and he dropped it knowing he wanted to drop something light, fun and simple first, considering the circumstances and the conditions we're all living in now. Him dropping a summer smash right now makes absolutely no sense when no one can go out to experience a record like that so TS was the obvious choice. He's been speaking like he hopes things would have calmed down by the summer but no one really knows tbh.

As for it getting pushed on all fronts (minus bundles), this is his official first single as a lead artist under his new record deal so they were always going to show out. I think Republic will have a stronger hand in promoting his stuff now that they deal with him directly instead of having to go through YMCMB.

I think he has several other joints ready to go (both as a lead artist and features). It might just now be a matter of when to drop those records, seeing as we might still be indoors for a couple more months.
