Ahem, here's why:

Released during the start of the pandemic, this song brought joy to many of us during a dull time. Once again, Drake had come with another hit. We heard the leaks and knew it would be huge. We were eager for the release. It released, and the world went crazy for it. Instant chart topper, instant tik tok hit. The video to accompany the song, in his glorious Toronto mansion, was insane. The Nike mask, the black goves, iconic. The soft autotune on his voice to make him sound like he's underwater, incredible. I haven't even talked about the hook yet. People clown on it for being one of the weaker points, but it actually just goes to show how incredibly playful Drake can be, all while bodying rappers in both rap music and rnb music. The verses on this song are arguably the strongest parts. Some standouts:

He has a fantastic ability to draw his real life into his songs and make them feel like it's your real life. He is the king of this. It's not as if he is using some particularly crazy rhyming schemes but the way he uses his voice to nook and cranny into so many good sounding flows is what makes him so great. Very similar to Biggie with this.

Without fail, Drake continuously reinvents himself and manages to tell his story in different ways. This part of the verse is so reminiscent of his sicko mode verse. He knows where he wins, and he stays in that pocket. It's incredible.

No other song in 2020 had this much bounce and rhythm to it. Everyone one was toosie sliding, even if they hated the song. He has a natural ability to go viral. It's really insane how Drake is still stomping on the music industry. He may disappear for sometime but he shows time and time again he can make a hit like this and cut the heads off his peers with ease. No other song could contest in 2020, no other.
