The Weeknd is typically a master of seamlessly lengthy tracks, but at 5:56, Escape From LA feels very bloated to me. The pacing feels off — I can feel time passing when I listen to that joint. Which is strange, because After Hours in comparison feels very seamless to me. I think there’s a stronger level of sincerity to the title track.
