i wouldnt even call mafia 2 a free roam game, certainly not a sandbox.
dope story and solid gameplay but should have been a linear experience because filling a world with 200 wanted posters is POINTLESS
Actually in most of the games collectables are boring
I feel like infamous doesn’t get enough praise for open world franchises
Infamous and Prototype were so fire back in 2009
Batman Arkham Knight (outside of the Batmobile missions) and Crackdown 1 and 2 deserve a spot.
Thread needs to be shutdown cause no one mentioned The Godfather smh
Gta Junior?
Gta Junior?
It’s a good to great game at the beginning but everything starts to get super repetitive at the end. It’s a cult classic and every cult classic imo has its flaws but it’s uniqueness makes up for it.
Prototype was absolutely nuts back in the day.
GTA Liberty City on PSP has me coming back more than Vice City.
GTA 5 is the ultimate “throw on a game in the background that hoes will f*** with” and is genuinely fun and everyone fw it. If you don’t you’re a lame lol
There was this old Godfather sandbox game that was super fun to me.
Jak and Daxter 1 easily as well.
Sandbox isn’t my type of game. But I do wish there were more sandbox games like the OG Jak and Daxter.
GTA and Skyrim s*** all over the sandbox genre
(Not counting Breath of the Wild.. havent played it yet but it looks dope)
1. Skyrim
2. Breath of the Wild
3. Fable: The Lost Chapters
4. Witcher 3
5. GTA: San Andreas
Anyone play that GTA shark game, Maneater? Looks fun. Reminds me of a "Destroy All Humans" type PS2 era game
I wish they made more story driven games like Detroit become human, the last of us
Having a beautiful story is underrated
Tired of the typical games, GTA, all them
Haven't played Red Dead 2 tho
I dig the Battlefield, COD stories tho
Need more story driven games
Batman Arkham Knight (outside of the Batmobile missions) and Crackdown 1 and 2 deserve a spot.
Arkham Knight is straight up the most detailed and dense open world game ever man
Every single billboard, poster, store front, news paper on the floor, graffiti in alleyways, street sign is a connected batman/DC/Arkham reference
GTA (3, VC, SA, 4, 5)
Fallout 3/New Vegas
Oblivion/Skyrim
Spider-Man
Scarface (super underrated)
I feel like infamous doesn’t get enough praise for open world franchises
1 has a really well designed city
2 adds really good movements powers even if the world isn't as good
Second son is cool but idk seattle doesn't have enough landmarks
