Coming off the response to Cherry Bomb he was at a crossroads and catapulted himself to the most success of his career
wasn't a huge album but was lowkey the start of Durk's comeback, a lot of ppl f***ed with it and it allowed him to slowly rise to where he is now
johnny cash american recordings
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
The Life of Pablo
Donda
This ain’t even a lie
It's a mixtape not an album but this restored Pluto in the eyes of many
yuup
? It was quiet for hov before that?
everybody considered him washed before that
Cherry Bomb is tyler at his creative peak even if the execution was better on his later albums
the last remnants of edgelord tyler finally maximized to its potential... when he was the true embodiment of counter culture
This is one album I wish I loved and understood the hype for. It bored me to tears unfortunately
I can’t speak for your personal taste but a reason why it’s so lauded is because it’s basically peak sound engineering. It’s a technical marvel that is probably only rivalled by Blonde in terms of mixing, mastering and sonic production. Albums simply do not get better than this when it comes to the engineering side of music.
It’s crafted incredibly meticulously - Daft Punk spent a million dollars of their own money to mix and master how they wanted it to sound. The tracklist itself is a chord progression. The mic’s used by Giorgio where he explains his life in the 60s, 70s & 80s all authentically taken from that specific era. These are just three examples that don’t really have direct impact, there’s tons more that showcase the brilliance.
All this being said, it’s not even my favourite Daft Punk album so I get why someone else may find it “whatever” but I hope I was able to provide some sort of context behind why a casual or niche listener may listen and instantly find that it sounds a little different.
You werent outside
And its a bottom 3 Kanye while yeezus is a top 3 album for me personally but the majority public disagrees
Kanye's career was fine before TLOP, he didn't need a career revival
